A short film exploring themes of personal boundaries, patience and trust, promoting a wearable piece by textile artist Izzy Parker.
‘Tactile Treatment’ is a hand-woven cape, containing over 10,000 acupuncture needles. It is as abrasive as it is heavy on the shoulders of the bearer. The intention of the film is to present a cyclical interaction, displaying various facets of the cape as well as its metaphorical symbolism. Utilising traditional staging and professional dancers, the film follows a loose narrative as one person meets another for the first time, wordlessly navigating the insecurities of interaction.
I directed, edited and scored this film. It was originally projected and looped in an exhibition space, hence the cyclical narrative. The film has since been played at film festivals in London and featured on acclaimed art/design sites such as Dezeen.
